The first/last/only post on this item was made early in February of this year, but it yet bears mentioning that the UPS is still going strong for $119 at Circuit City. For anyone having difficulty acquiring CC coupons, price-matching this item to Best Buy (which carries it in-store regularly for $169.99) or Staples (@ 172.98; URL= http://www.Staples.com/office/supplies/StaplesProductDisplay?storeId=10001&jspStoreDir=Staples&productId=156772&cmSearchKeyword=661854&fromUrl=home&cmArea=SEARCH&catalogId=10051&langId=-1).
If targeting Best Buy, one could utilize the 12% Reward Zone coupon currently floating around, provided the BB register worker encountered is intelligent/dumb enough to enter the discount for the coupon manually, as it does not automatically apply to the UPS. (The wrinkle occurs because while the coupon clearly lists "surge protectors" as one category for which the 12% discount applies, employee understanding of the item appears limited to its recognition as only a "battery backup." Earlier today I reasoned with a BB cashier that the UPS, while unavoidably a "battery backup," is equally definable as a "surge protector" and therefore should be counted as a valid item for the discount; the manager, when hailed for a judgment, agreed without hesitance. The fact that BB website hierarchizes the company's power protection offerings as "Computers > Accessories > Surge Protectors > Battery Backup (UPS)" seems incontrovertible proof for accepting the BX1300LCD as a discountable item.)
At any rate, in the best of all possible worlds, the cost would come out to $105.59 plus local tax.
